Our Story

Our history and experience are in our name. Southmark Capital was created in 1999 when Founder and CEO Kevin McCarthy, working with the principals of LandSOUTH and LandMARK, recognized the power of combining the expertise of purchasing distressed debt from financial institutions with leading residential and commercial real estate development. Southmark quickly emerged as a unique opportunistic real estate investor with principals of both organizations helping Kevin shape Southmark Capital into the leading investment firm we are today.

Kevin and his team, with the guidance of Southmark Capital Advisory Board member, Wayne Nix, continue to leverage LandSOUTH and LandMARK principles to optimize investor returns.
